Art Van Furniture and Charity Challenge

Art Van Furniture is dedicated to Michigan communities. When Chairman and Founder Art Van Elslander saw the state crippled by unprecedented economic hardships, he rose to meet the need. Seeing how hard charitable organizations were hit, he stepped up with the landmark Million Dollar Charity Challenge. Beginning in 2009, Van Elslander donated $1 million dollars, which was divided among 50 charities throughout the state offering assistance to children, health, and human services. The grants, ranging in amount from $5,000 to $50,000, were positioned as “Challenge Grants” to maximize giving potential and help the charities even more.
